Sven Froekjaer-Jensen                          Traits of female destiny.

Traits of female destiny. A project trying to create glimpses of the female mind.

Because of a few moments, meeting their potentials and being part of their universe, women have been very kind to me, sharing some of their secrets and even singing to me, when I was a child.

From my early childhood women have been the most wonderful and strange universe for me to experience. So alike and so very different. Their minds as maps of unknown land so fascinating, rewarding and mysterious. Following and enhancing the value of my whole life. And in this modern world where the roles of females and males have melted together, maybe the stages are even a description of the male universe.

In this project I have chosen to show an array of feelings or stages expressed by the different faces on the canvas. The key might be the nearness and the intensity of feelings shown by the different – or maybe the same – woman expressing moments and feelings as fragile as paper. The requirements of the project has made it nescessary to create a very harsh astetic concept to express the essence in the right way.

You can see the pictures below as playing cards if you want to or stages of consciousness. You might even meet yourself and your feelings in them. Travelling on. Through this life, a thousand kisses deep.
